Week 6 – Planet Ocean

Posted on April 11, 2014

What lies in the oceans of planet earth? That question is one of the toughest questions in the world as the oceans of the planet are still over 90 per cent not found. In our class we had five presenters discuss different elements of the oceans and thow we harm it. One of the presenters explained that Jason Taylor created riveting underwater sculptures that are homes for animals and plants.

Dr. David Ferreira said in the Huffington Post (2014), “We know much more about the surface of the moon than we do about the ocean floor in that part of the Indian Ocean.” In the Indian Ocean, there is an underwater mountain range similar to the size of the “Rockies” where the missing MH370 flight could be. How this relates to exploring spaces is that the ocean is still yet to be completely mapped. There is an enormous amount of space to discover in the ocean and it will take centuries before the space in the ocean is fully explored.
